Why does Meta lock or ban a WhatsApp number, and how does Fliok help me avoid it?
Meta restricts a WhatsApp account when it breaks Meta’s rules, most often by messaging people who never agreed to hear from the business. Meta’s rule is that you may only message people who gave you their number and agreed to get messages from you, and it says that someone messaging you first has not agreed by doing so. It acts when a business sends spam, labels promotional templates as account notices, or is blocked and reported by many of the people it messages. Meta says it warns the account first; after repeated violations its blocks get longer: 1 or 3 days without template messages, then 5, 7 or 30 days without any messages, then an account lock that only an appeal removes, and finally the account can be disabled for good. Fliok helps you stay clear of this, and never limits messages to people who have messaged you. It cannot see who agreed, so it treats people who have messaged you, or whose opt-in is recorded, as people who know your business, and is careful with everyone else. You record an opt-in on the contact itself, or with a consent column when you import contacts. A broadcast of account notices or login codes goes only to people who know your business. A marketing broadcast to people who have never messaged you asks you to confirm that they agreed, then goes out gradually: at first up to 50 of them a day from each number (or a tenth of Meta’s daily limit for that number, if that is more), doubling after each day that delivery stays healthy, with the rest going out by themselves from 10:00 the next morning. If many of the first messages cannot be delivered or are held back by Meta, Fliok stops the broadcast for those people. Someone who has never messaged you and has not replied is not sent another broadcast for 7 days, and after Meta locks, bans or warns your account these broadcasts pause for 14 days. Those numbers are Fliok’s own choices: Meta publishes the rules, not the thresholds. If Meta does refuse a message for this reason, or reports a number as banned, Fliok stops sending from that number at once so no more messages are refused, stops any broadcast that was running without charging for the people not yet messaged, and shows the number as Banned by Meta or Sending blocked by Meta on Home and in Settings. It starts sending again by itself once Meta lifts the block. To ask Meta for a review, sign in to Meta Business Suite, open All tools, then Business Support Home, choose your WhatsApp account, pick the violation and press Request review. Meta says a review typically takes 24 to 48 hours, and that it does not accept an appeal for every spam violation. While you wait, do not keep trying to send and do not send the same list from another number.
