How does GST work on my bills?

Your bills carry GST only if you say you are registered for it; a new business starts as Not registered for tax, with no tax on its bills. An admin chooses how the business is registered in the business details, under Tax. Registered for GST: your invoices are tax invoices, GST is added on each line and your GSTIN is printed. GST composition scheme: your invoices are bills of supply, no tax is shown and your GSTIN is printed. Not registered for tax: no tax is shown and no tax number is printed. Outside India the choices are Another sales tax, with one rate per line under the name you give it, such as VAT, or Not registered for tax. When you are registered for GST, each line takes a rate from 0 to 40% (0, 5, 18 and 40 are one tap), prices are entered before tax, and you can add an HSN or SAC code to a line. You choose the customer’s state, or enter their GSTIN: the same state as yours gives CGST and SGST, another state gives IGST. Fliok checks your GSTIN’s check digit and that it matches your state, and bills with GST are in rupees. What it does not do: it does not produce e-invoices (an IRN or a signed e-invoice), e-way bills, credit or debit notes, or GST returns. If you tick that your yearly turnover is above ₹5 crore, the settings remind you that e-invoices are made on the e-invoice portal, not in Fliok. The sales register exports as a CSV with the taxable value and the CGST, SGST and IGST of each bill, for your accountant. Fliok works the tax out from what you enter. It is not tax advice: ask your accountant how your business should bill.
