What it does

Everything in Recurring Billing

  • A bill raised on each date, by itself
  • Every week, month, 3, 6 or 12 months
  • Until you stop it, for a number of bills, or to a date
  • The first bill waits for you to check it
  • The same pay link and UPI QR as any invoice
  • Renewal reminders before a term runs out
  • Pause it, skip one bill, or stop it
  • A missed bill waits for you, never a burst

Setting one up

Say how often, how it ends and how it leaves

One short form: what it is for, who it is for, what each bill holds, how often and how it ends. It lists the first dates before you save.

  • Each bill an invoice, or a proforma first
  • Pay within sets how many days the customer has
  • Or start from an invoice, with Repeat this bill

Its own page

What it has billed, and what comes next

Each recurring bill has a page with the next bill, the bills it has raised and whether each is paid. The promise under it is printed there too.

  • Not an auto-debit: nothing is taken from the customer
  • Edit it, and the change applies from the next bill
  • Skip next bill, Pause, or Stop

Renewals

A reminder before a term runs out

A recurring bill with an end reminds the customer 30, 15 and 7 days before its last day, with what the renewal comes to and a bill to pay.

  • Paying that bill renews it for one more term
  • A marketing message on WhatsApp, and an email
  • Switch it off for instalments that simply finish

Getting paid

Every bill carries the ways to pay

A bill raised this way is an ordinary invoice: its own page with the balance, a UPI QR for the exact amount, your bank details and payment reminders.

  • Paid straight to you, never through Fliok
  • A part payment gets its own receipt
  • Unpaid bills show under Who owes you
Payment reminders and who owes you

Drawn with the dashboard's own components, with sample data.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

  1. 01

    Say what it is for

Open Invoices, the Recurring tab, and press New recurring bill. Your customer reads the name you give it.

  2. 02

Say how often, and how it ends

Every week, month, 3, 6 or 12 months. Until you stop it, after a number of bills, or on a date.

  3. 03

    Check the first bill

It is made as a draft unless you choose otherwise. Once you send it, each later one is issued and sent on its date.

  4. 04

    The customer pays each bill

Every bill has the pay link and the UPI QR. Record the payment, or it records itself when paid online.

What it costs

Part of your plan, not an add-on

Recurring bills are part of Invoices & receipts, on Basic, Pro and Enterprise. They are not on Free.

  • The owner and admins are told at 80% of a month’s limit and again when it is used up. Pro gives 1,500 bills and quotations and 2,500 bookings a month.
  • The bills and their payment reminders go as utility messages. A renewal reminder goes as a marketing message, at Meta’s marketing rate.
  • Meta bills each WhatsApp message to your own WhatsApp Business account at its own rates; Fliok adds no markup.
  • Each WhatsApp message also counts toward your plan’s monthly message allowance.
  • Customers pay you directly: your UPI ID, your bank account or your own payment gateway, under your agreement with it. Fliok never holds the money.
  • On Basic, customer pages and PDFs carry “Powered by Fliok” and emails “Sent with Fliok”. Pro and Enterprise carry neither.

Said plainly

What it doesn’t do

It raises and sends the bill, and your customer pays it. These are not part of it.

  • Auto-debit and mandatesA recurring bill is a bill your customer pays each time. Fliok never takes money from a card, a bank account or UPI by itself.
  • Changing the dates of a running billThe dates are fixed once a bill has come round. To change them, stop it and set up another.
  • Late feesReminders say what is owed and by when. Nothing is added to a bill for being late.

Got questions?

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about Recurring Billing. Anything else, ask us.

Can I bill a customer every month on WhatsApp?

Yes. Set up a recurring bill and Fliok raises the bill on each date and sends it from your own WhatsApp number and by email. Choose every week, every month, every 3, 6 or 12 months, or every few months. Each bill is an ordinary invoice, or a proforma first, with the same pay link and UPI QR and its own payment reminders. A bill set for the 31st is raised on the last day of a shorter month.

Is it an auto-debit or a subscription?

No. It is not an auto-debit and not a subscription that charges by itself: Fliok never takes money from a customer’s card, bank account or UPI. A recurring bill is a bill your customer pays each time, the way they pay any invoice.

Does the first bill go out without me seeing it?

Not unless you choose that. Sending starts as “Check the first one, then send by itself”: the first bill is made as a draft, and once you have sent it every later one is issued and sent on its date. You can instead send every one by itself, or have each one made as a draft for you to check.

What happens when a membership or a term ends?

For a recurring bill that has an end, renewal reminders go 30, 15 and 7 days before its last day, on WhatsApp and by email, with what the renewal comes to and a bill to pay. When the customer pays that bill, it is renewed for one more term. Switch the reminder off for something that simply finishes, like fee instalments.

What if I pause it, or a date is missed?

You can Skip next bill, Pause, or Stop it for good, and an edit applies from the next bill. A bill that was not raised within 7 days of its date, for example while it was paused, is listed as missed, and you choose to raise it or skip it. A gap never turns into a burst of bills.

Do recurring bills count toward my plan’s limit?

Yes. Every bill it raises counts as one of the month’s bills and quotations (300 on Basic, 1,500 on Pro and unlimited on Enterprise). If those are used up, the bill waits and is raised by itself on the 1st, or as soon as you upgrade, and the Recurring tab warns you before that happens. The owner and admins are told at 80% of a month’s limit and again when it is used up. Pro gives 1,500 bills and quotations and 2,500 bookings a month.

What do the messages cost?

The bills and their payment reminders go as utility messages. A renewal reminder goes as a marketing message, at Meta’s marketing rate, so a customer who has stopped marketing messages gets it by email only. Meta bills each WhatsApp message to your own WhatsApp Business account at its own rates; Fliok adds no markup.

How does my customer pay each bill?

The way they pay any invoice from you: the bill’s page shows the balance, a UPI QR and button for the exact amount once you add your UPI ID, your bank details, and Pay online if you have connected your own Razorpay account. The money goes straight to you.
