WhatsApp error 132001
Error 132001: Template does not exist
Error 132001 means Meta could not find an approved template with the exact name and language you sent. Usually the language code does not match (for example “en” when it was approved as “en_US”), the name has a typo, or the template is not approved yet. Send the exact name and language that were approved.
- Meta’s description
- “The template does not exist in the specified language or the template has not been approved.” Meta’s error codes, 4 October 2026
- Charged by Meta?
- No. Meta charges only for delivered messages, and this one was not delivered.
- Shown in Fliok analytics as
- “Template not found”
Common causes
- The language code differs from the approved one, such as en versus en_US.
- A typo or different capitalisation in the template name.
- The template is still in review, was rejected, or was deleted.
- The template belongs to a different WhatsApp Business Account from the number sending it.
How to fix it
- Copy the template name and language exactly as they appear in WhatsApp Manager or your Fliok Templates page.
- Check the template’s status is Approved.
- Make sure the sending number is in the same WhatsApp Business Account as the template.
What Fliok does about it
- Broadcasts in Fliok can only use templates synced from Meta with the status Approved, and they send the stored name and language, so they cannot get either wrong.
- Templates created outside Fliok are imported too: the Templates page has a Sync button, and a nightly check imports any template on your account that Fliok has not seen.
- Through the REST API you send the template name yourself, so check it against your approved list.
- Failures show as “Template not found” in the analytics failure breakdown.
Meta sets and changes these codes. If anything here disagrees with Meta’s current reference, Meta is right.
Almost always the language: the send must use the exact language code it was approved with, such as en_US rather than en. Check the name’s spelling too, and that the sending number belongs to the same WhatsApp Business Account.
