A good Diwali offer message for customers on WhatsApp names one offer, says when it ends, tells people how to order, and goes only to customers who agreed to hear from you. Below are samples in English and Hindi for each part of the season, a sending plan for 2026, and the WhatsApp rules that decide whether your messages arrive and what they cost.
In 2026 Dhanteras falls on Friday 6 November, Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) on Sunday 8 November and Bhai Dooj on Tuesday 10 November, as most calendars list them; check your regional panchang, which can differ by a day.
When to send a Diwali offer message
Send fewer messages and time them well. Each one should give the customer a reason to act that day.
Swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| When (2026) | What to send | Who to send it to |
|---|---|---|
| Around 2 November | The announcement: what is on offer and until when | Everyone who opted in |
| 5 November, the day before Dhanteras | A Dhanteras special, if you sell gold, silver, utensils or electronics | Everyone who opted in |
| 7 November, Choti Diwali | Last day of the offer | People who have not ordered yet |
| 9–10 November | Thanks, and a Bhai Dooj gift idea | Your customers from the season |
Three marketing messages to one person over the season is plenty. Fliok will not send anyone two marketing templates from you within 48 hours, so space the messages to one person at least two days apart, as the dates above do.
Diwali offer message samples in English
Copy these and change the words in brackets. In a WhatsApp template, each bracket becomes a variable that is filled in for every customer.
The announcement
- “Hi [Name], our Diwali sale is here! 🪔 Get [20]% off on [our festive range] until [8 November]. Reply to this message to order, or tap below to shop.”
- “Diwali orders are now open at [Shop]. Book your [sweet boxes / gift hampers] by [4 November] for delivery before the festival. Reply with the quantity and we will confirm.”
- “[Name], a Diwali gift from us: use code [DIWALI20] for [20]% off everything until [8 November].”
For Dhanteras
- “Shubh Dhanteras, [Name]! Our [silver coins / kitchenware] are [10]% off on [6 November] only. Reply to reserve yours.”
- “Planning a Dhanteras purchase? [Product] is in stock at [Shop], with [free delivery / an exchange offer] until [6 November].”
The last day
- “Last day! Our Diwali offer ends tonight at [10 pm]. Use code [DIWALI20] for [20]% off.”
- “[Name], your Diwali discount of [20]% ends today. Reply ORDER and we will call you back.”
After Diwali
- “Happy Diwali from all of us at [Shop]! Thank you for being with us this year. Our offer on [product] runs until [Bhai Dooj, 10 November].”
- “Looking for a Bhai Dooj gift? [Gift boxes] start at [₹650], delivered by [10 November]. Reply to order.”
End every one with an easy way out, such as “Reply STOP to unsubscribe”. It costs you nothing, and it keeps people from blocking or reporting you instead.
Diwali offer message for customers in Hindi
For customers who read Hindi, write the template in Hindi. Do not mix two languages in one message unless your customers write that way themselves.
And in Hinglish, for customers who chat that way: “Hi [Name], Diwali sale shuru ho gayi hai! [Product] par [20]% off, sirf [8 November] tak. Order ke liye isi chat mein reply karein. 🪔”
A Hindi footer for opting out: “मैसेज बंद करने के लिए STOP भेजें”. Keep the word STOP in English, so customers type the word your system recognises.
Every Diwali message is a marketing message
Offers, coupons and festival greetings are all marketing on WhatsApp. Meta’s template category guidelines list promotional offers and coupons as marketing. Even a message that only builds the relationship counts: its examples include a festival invitation that opens with Diwali and a birthday wish. Do not submit a Diwali offer as a utility template to pay less. Meta reviews the category, switches templates it finds misfiled to marketing, and restricts accounts that keep doing it.
Marketing is also the dearest category. To an Indian number Meta charges about ₹0.8631 per delivered marketing message (October 2026, Meta’s pricing). An offer delivered to 2,000 customers therefore costs about ₹1,726 in Meta charges, before Meta’s taxes. Messages that are not delivered are not charged. See WhatsApp API pricing in India for every category.
Not everything you send will arrive. Meta limits how many marketing messages one person receives from all businesses, and a message to someone at that limit fails with error 131049 (see Meta’s error codes). You cannot appeal it, and Meta does not charge for it. That is one more reason to send fewer, better messages.
Who to send it to
Send only to people who agreed to get WhatsApp messages from you. Meta’s opt-in rules ask businesses to make clear what people are signing up for, and to honour opt-outs. Your customers and enquirers who have messaged you are the right audience. A bought or scraped list of numbers is not. People who do not know you block and report, and enough reports get a number restricted. See why Meta locks or bans a number.
Fliok is careful with people who have never messaged your business and have no opt-in recorded, because it cannot see whether they agreed. A marketing broadcast reaches at most 50 of them a day from each number at first, at no more than 20 a minute. Someone new who has not replied is not sent another broadcast for 7 days. These are Fliok’s own limits, not Meta’s.
How to send it from Fliok
Broadcasts are on the Basic plan and above. The Free Forever plan cannot send them. Basic includes 10,000 messages a month and Pro 100,000; Meta’s charges are separate and billed by Meta.
- 1Start from the library. On the Message templates page, the template library has a ready-made Diwali offer template: a festive discount with a coupon code, sent in the week before Diwali, with a button that copies the code and a link to your shop. Change the words, add a festive image as the header if you like, and choose Hindi as the language for a Hindi version. See ready-made templates.
- 2Submit it now. Meta reviews every template, and a rejected one has to be fixed and submitted again, so do not leave it to the week of Diwali. See when you need a template.
- 3Create the broadcast. Choose the approved template and an audience: by tags, picked contacts, an uploaded list or a saved audience. If you record who opted in, you can choose Only people who opted in.
- 4Send a test to your own number and read it on the phone.
- 5Schedule it. Pick a time in IST, up to 30 days ahead. The broadcasts page has a calendar of everything scheduled, so you can lay out the whole season in one go (scheduled broadcasts).
- 6Follow up once. After a broadcast, Follow up sends another template only to the people who did not read the first one.
Replies land in the shared inbox, where your team answers them. On Basic and above the AI agent can answer too, paid per reply from the AI wallet. If you close for the festival, set an away message so people who write in know when you will reply. The auto-reply samples include one for Diwali.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good Diwali offer message for customers?
One short message with a single offer, its end date and how to order, for example: “Hi [Name], our Diwali sale is here! Get 20% off on our festive range until 8 November. Reply to this message to order.” End it with a way to opt out, such as “Reply STOP to unsubscribe”.
Can I send Diwali wishes on WhatsApp as a utility message?
No. Meta counts promotions, coupons and greetings as marketing, including festival wishes with no offer in them. A Diwali template filed as utility is switched to marketing at review, and businesses that keep misfiling templates can lose the use of utility templates for a time.
How much does a Diwali WhatsApp broadcast cost in India?
Meta charges about ₹0.8631 for each marketing message delivered to an Indian number (October 2026), so 2,000 delivered messages cost about ₹1,726 before Meta’s taxes. Undelivered messages are not charged. Fliok’s plan fee is separate, and broadcasts need the Basic plan or above.
Can I send a Diwali offer message in Hindi?
Yes. Write the template in Hindi and choose Hindi as its language when you create it. To reach some customers in English and others in Hindi, create one template in each language and send each to its own audience.
When should I send Diwali offer messages in 2026?
Diwali is on Sunday 8 November 2026 and Dhanteras on Friday 6 November. Announce the offer around 2 November, send a Dhanteras special on 5 November, send a last-day reminder on 7 November to people who have not ordered, and thank your customers after the festival. Keep it to about three messages per person.
